Meet George
UPDATE 2-12-23: George’s 62 pounds gives the impression of long and lean. His attitude is like the calm of a perfect summer night. He is a classic tri-color hound—tan and white with a black saddle, a soft white muzzle ready to lay in your lap. George came as an unclaimed stray with a few small masses that we had removed. He took this in stride, healed quickly with a follow up good-bill-of-health from the vet. He is respectable on a leash and is happy to be walking with a partner. He rides well in a car and traffic doesn’t seem to trouble him at all. This gentle boy seems to look on the easy side of life—each dawn a new gift to unwrap, as if other dogs are acquaintances to meet and cats just other beings that belong on this earth too. Wise in his 8 years, George is not overly energetic but also not a droopy dude either. He seems to have just the right energy mix. He is always happy to meet new people and looks forward to seeing the ones he knows, but keeps his greetings dignified. During his stay here, he has been quiet and keeps his room in good order. It is easy to picture him stretched serenely in the glow of a wood burning stove as his person relaxes close by in their favorite chair. If you are looking for old southern charm with attentive ears that will listen to your concerns and joys, a reliable buddy to take long strolls with (in the country, city, or to have as a vacation compadre), George is ready and patiently waiting.
