Meet Harkness

Harkness is a sweet little Yorkie, who is 8 years old and weighs 8 lbs.  Harkness is a lovebug! She likes to “talk” and will give you a little bark when she needs some attention. She came to us as a breeder release pup and never lived in a home as someone’s loving pet until she came to us. So many things are new to her like normal home noises and stairs. She is learning very quickly about love and enjoys snuggling up with her foster mom.  Harkness is working on housetraining and leash walking but will need someone with time and patience to help her be successful. We also have Hadley, who is Harkness’ sister. Hadley is a little more reserved, but equally beautiful and sweet. They would make a perfect pair for someone looking to adopt two dogs, however, they are not necessarily bonded and do well separate from each other, so we are not requiring them to be adopted together. Please look at Hadley’s bio if you are interested in adopting 2 Yorkies.  Harkness could be an only dog or have another dog under 15 pounds in the home. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches, which is attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed and microchipped. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500

Adoption Process
Fees: $500 (includes physical/vaccinations/heartworm test/spay/neuter/dental) Adoption Contract Required: Vet & Reference checks, Home visit, fenced yard and no children under 10 years.
