Moseley came to CVRR from an overcrowded shelter where his time was running out, a friendly fellow and a quick learner, Moseley is housebroken and crate trained. He did well for us on a trip to the vet to get checked out and for a bath before going to his foster home. He is exuberant when he meets people or sees another dog and needs to learn about not jumping up on people. Once the initial greeting is over he settles down nicely and enjoys pets and belly rubs. He has multiple speeds of playing: running with gusto, wrestling, then coming in to nap peacefully. Moseley enjoys going for walks but needs to be reminded not to pull. He eats politely and takes treats gently but needs a diet as he is a little overweight. He has lost some weight for us but has a little way to go. We would like to see him at 50-55 lbs and will be working on that! A fenced yard would be a plus to help him lose some of those extra pounds. He loves to run and play with other dogs and would be a nice playmate for another dog buddy. We recommend a home with adults only or with older children, not young ones. We have not had a chance to check him out with cats yet. He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm and stool check. He is microchipped and ready to meet the public to find his forever home. **Moseley's adoption fee is $200.
Adoption Process
We have an extensive application process where veterinary references are checked (we require all current and past animals have been altered and that the client shows a history of good vet care) and we has a number of questions targeted at encouraging the adopting family to really consider if they are ready financially and emotionally to support an animal life long. We also try to match the right animal with the right home with consideration to the adopters previous animal experience, energy level, and general personality. After reviewing and approving and applicant (on paper), we meet with them and all members of their house hold including other resident dogs. We offer one week trials to ensure this decision is in the best interest of both human and animal. If all parties are confident upon meeting, then we have a contract which also states that if any anytime they are unable to keep the animal, that they will return in to our organization. Adoption fees vary from $100-275 based on age, size, and breed, with $175 as an average.
