Underdogs Rock! Rescue

We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at [email protected] work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Meet Ellie Mae

Ellie was a hot mess and trying to care for 3 babies when she landed in an incredibly overcrowded mid-CA shelter. Luckily an Underdog rescue partner stepped in to get her and her babies out and into foster care. Ellie was able to safely raise her babies and they have all been adopted. Now it is momma Ellie’s turn. Ellie is the best! This 3 yr old 10Lb girl is friendly with everyone, even gentle kiddos. She’s good with other dogs, even those bigger than her. While she could be an only dog, she would really enjoy being paired up with another playful dog. She's even fine with cats.   She’s ok on leash and good in the car. Despite her estimated age, she still has a bit of puppy in her. She needs daily walks, fenced in yard time, and toys and chews inside so she doesn’t mistake the wrong things as hers to do with as she will. She’s not a crate fan. She expects to be able to snuggle up in bed with you at night, and what an excellent snuggle bug she is. She is dog door trained. Without a dog door you will need to be vigilant about making sure she gets frequent potty breaks and you go out with her.   This affectionate love is ready for her final landing spot, a furever family who will adore and care for her as she always should have been. If you are interested in seeing about a meet with Ellie, be sure to submit an online Underdogs Rock Rescue adoption application at https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog Ellie is microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. She will have an Underdog provided spay appointment scheduled at a Portland, OR, Vet. An adopter will need to be able to take her in for her appointment. You must be available to meet an Underdog in their foster's location. Ellie is being fostered in Vancouver, WA. Underdogs are not held for applicants or shipped out of the area. Home checks are part of the adoption process. He adoption fee is $450. PLEASE NOTE: Ellie's actual breed mix is unknown. Any posted breed is nothing more than a guess at a breed that has looks at least somewhat similar to her.   For updates on all the Underdogs be sure to follow the Underdogs Rock Rescue Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/UnderdogsRockRescue
