Meet Hwamok (S. Korea) hz
Meet Hwamok! (My name means "harmony" in Korean!)Breed: Jino/Welsh Corgi MixAge: 8 MonthsGender: Female Weight: 19 lb Height: 37 cmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, playfulI was born in a loving foster home after my brave mama was rescued from the euthanasia list. She took amazing care of me and my five sisters, making sure we were all well-fed and safe. At three months old, I moved to another foster home, where I got to live with two kind kids (13 and 15 years old). Now, I’m back at my original foster home, living with other dogs and learning more about the world every day.I’m naturally bright and high-spirited! I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, I love getting attention. I enjoy being petted and lifted, and I have super soft fur—don’t you want to feel it? Since I’m still in my puppyhood, I have a high energy level and love to play, especially with other dogs! Big or small, I enjoy wrestling, running, and having fun for hours if you let me. Dog parks are my happy place! I also love playing with toys and wood sticks, and I’ll even sit nicely for food.I’m still getting used to the outside world. When I feel nervous, I might refuse to walk or lie down flat. My foster mom is helping me build confidence, and I’m making progress! I also met a cat at the vet once—I gave a quick sniff and didn’t bother it at all. Here’s what makes me a great companion: No aggression or resource guarding—I even share my toys! No separation anxiety—I’m fine being left alone. Rarely bark—I like to observe quietly. Crate-trained & housetrained (but mostly indoors for now). No escape tendencies—I stay where I belong!I’m still working on: Car rides make me nervous—I drool a lot, but I’m trying! Outdoor walks can be scary—but I’m learning every day!If you’re looking for a fun-loving, playful pup who enjoys both adventure and companionship, I’d love to meet you! Could we be the perfect match? Energy Level: At the moment, I have a high energy level. (I'm still in my puppyhood).I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Potentially YesKids: YesFears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes, mostly indoors as I'm still nervous being outside. Please be prepared to continue training.Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
