Motley Zoo Animal Rescue

Motley Zoo Animal Rescue is dedicated to improving the lives of animals locally, nationally and internationally; alleviating their suffering and elevating their status in society through the rescue and rehabilitation of animals in need and through the education of their community on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, advocating the value of all animal life, in hopes to end the neglect and abuse of all animals and to end the devastating pet overpopulation through spay and neuter advocacy.

Meet AXL ROSE

*** AXL REQUIRES ANOTHER DOG IN THE HOME AND NO CATS ***   NAME: AXL ROSE AGE/GENDER: Puppy (born 11/22/2022), Male BREED: HUSKY MIX  TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous, and even mellow! yes, I know, basically unheard of in a husky ESTIMATED ADULT WEIGHT: 50ish lbs    HOUSE TRAINING: Axl is housetrained and goes outside with a consistent schedule. CRATE TRAINING: Good. Axl loves his crate and sometimes will go into the crate on his own when he's tired. OTHER DOGS: Good! Axl has been raised with dogs of all ages and sizes and does well with them all.  CATS: NO CATS. Huskies have a prey drive as a general rule, which Axl is following. CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00 HEALTH: AXL came to us with a ruptured bladder! This was repaired but something you have to be cognizant of  and require at least yearly exams, especially as he may possibly have future bladder stones. Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs.  HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do! NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: In a nutshell, Axl is AMAZING.    Obviously he's not perfect, because he can be a little cranky when he's tired or has a highly valued treat. But only with other dogs. He's still young so he still does like to chew and will need supervision and appropriate toys. Otherwise he's a perfect little gentleman.   He is a typical husky. So not cats. No recall. The occasional yelling, which means no apartments. The occasional ignoring of the commands because he just doesn't feel like it and you haven't provided him with the proper motivation.   But he's a gem of a husky boy otherwise. We're often told at events that he attends how misrepresentative of the husky breed he is because after 15-30 minutes of socializing, he's done. And by done, he's chillaxing. After playing he will often put himself away in his crate for a nap. He does indeed love his naps.   He also is a typical husky in that he's very dog social and people social. He greets everyone without issue.    He's just the happiest little boy. Happy to be with you. Happy to see you. Happy to hang with you. Happy to walk with you. Happy to train with you. Happy to nap with you.   Axl has had training and does excellent on the leash, knows his basic commands. He's the perfect guy to go with you to breweries or other dog friendly establishments.    You seriously couldn't ask for a better companion than this little guy.   All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.   Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email [email protected] and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!   For more information, please visit www.motleyzoo.org.   Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!   Woof,   The Motley Zoo Crew
