Underdogs Rock! Rescue

We are a small Portland, Oregon based 501c3 organization rescuing dogs from the over crowded shelters in Southern California, Alabama, and Hawaii. We foster the dogs until they are healthy and help them find their forever homes! Contact us at [email protected] work directly with Rescue Groups in Southern California to rescue dogs who are on their last days in the high-kill shelters. Because our dogs are in Foster Homes we get to know the dogs personalities and needs. As we know the dogs well and how they do in a home environment, we do a great job in matching families with the right dog, and the right family for the dog!

Meet Aster

Aster is one of 3 siblings. This darling girl is around 3.5 months old and just over 10Lbs. She is expected to be under 40Lbs full grown. All three siblings enjoy being held and carried around. They’re sweet babies that are enthusiastic about life like puppies usually are, brave, bold, and just want to have fun!  Aster is the little sister of the bunch. She is a feisty sweetheart who wants all the belly rubs she can get. She loves to play with little stuffed toys and is a water dog! When her foster mom is watering the garden she takes great joy in following her around and trying to bite the water spraying from the hose! She, like her siblings, does great with the other two small resident pups, a 6 & 5lb Chihuahua. She is learning to give space when asked by the older dog. She really enjoys playtime though with the more playful resident dog. When taken out and told to go potty Aster is good about going and finding her spot in the yard to do her business. In her puppy room if she needs to potty she will make use of a potty pad. When it comes time for bedtime she’s good about settling down for bedtime. Given Aster’s age and continued training needs at this time, she cannot be placed in a situation where she will regularly be left alone for extended periods of time. She’s also the perfect age for puppy training classes and socialization. She’ll need an adopter willing to invest time in these with her.    Aster has had one round of vaccinations, de-worming, and received flea treatment. She will have a 2nd set of vaccinations, de-worming treatment, health exam, and spay provided for her at an Underdog designated Vet. She is being fostered in SE Portland. Her adoption fee is $450. Think Aster might be just the right fit for you and/or your family? If so, to request a meet with an Underdog you MUST first submit an online Underdogs Rock Rescue adoption application at https://underdogsrock.org/adoption-application     You must be able to meet an available dog at the foster’s location. Dogs are not held for potential adopters or shipped outside of the area. Home checks are part of the adoption and will be conducted virtually. For updates on all the Underdogs be sure to follow the Underdog Rock Rescue Facebook page.

Adoption Process
All adoptions require a contract, our fees vary on the situation. We complete home inspections prior to adoption and follow up with adopters after the adoption for assistance if needed.
