Meet Maxy/Onyx
Maxy is a 7 year old Chihuahua mix who is a recent hind leg amputee with a zest for life. He’s about 20 pounds and should remain slim to help with joint health. He’s microchipped, up-to-date on shots and neutered. His leg was deformed after a car incident and it was really just holding him back. He is a great boy who loves his walks, treats, and most people. When out on walks he does really well with not pulling on the leash. He is also laid back enough that if he’s next to you with a blanket on him, he will stay there for hours!Sometimes Maxy is too passionate about things. He gets along okay with his foster dog siblings, but does need some help remembering he’s not in charge of everyone. He takes their corrections well and doesn’t retaliate, which is nice of him! When meeting new dogs he growls, but so far it usually stops there. As long as the other dog is secure and laid back we don’t have issues. There are cats in his current foster home and he’s shown some interest once but hasn’t harmed them.Maxy is currently working through some itchy skin stuff and we’re trying to figure out how to help him with it long-term, but he sure is cute when he scratches his back on door frames! Whether you need a snuggle buddy or an adventure buddy, he wants to fill that spot! Fill out a Statement of Interest for him at https://alternativehumanesociety.com/statement-of-interest-dog/
