Meet LOKI (Local) yo
Greetings all. My name is LOKI and here is a little info about me:Breed: German ShepardAge: 5 yrsGender: maleWeight: 120 lbsCountry of origin: CanadaHighlight(s): mellow, goofy, good traveler, well-behaved, gentle, smartLow key & mellow, but mainly just a big loki dokie goofball.Due to the fact that my daddy has lost his parents that cared for me while he was away for work and personal happenings that have lead to downsizing & selling his house, he feels it isn't fair to me to be in a small place and not have time to be with me. He wants a better life for me, so he is seeking the right family for me to spend the rest of my days with.I will provide you plenty of entertainment with my silliness. Like my favourite activity in the summer, when I sit outside in the backyard and chase bugs around the yard. I will watch intensely at something on the ground and run off after it when it flys off. Yup, plenty of amusement with me.A fav game of mine at the dog park is chase, as I like to be the chaser. I often forget my size and can be intimidating at first to smaller dogs. I am very friendly and just get quite excited to talk and get up to other dogs. Guess I forget my size and loudness of bark. That said, when playing chase I will slow my pace to give the other dog a chance. Wink. At the kennel last week, they told my daddy I played very gently with a Mastiff puppy. I am also a very good boy at not wrecking the house when left. My GSD intelligence no doubt, along with a good upbringing. Give me a plush toy though and it won't have a long lifespan. Smile. That is why my toys tend to be hard plastic or rubber. When on walks, I can be more of a puller when I see other animals I want to go say hi to. I'm a friendly goof. I listen to reminders about my job to stay with you though and not pulling too much when talked to... before I get excited.I have happily lived with a cat and do well with kids. I'd love a home where we can get out for fun amd games, but then just chill around the house later. A yard is a super plus.I travel well with my dad to work, as I love car rides and the joy of staying in a hotel. I am very quiet and well behaved when staying at a hotel.Overall, my dad says I am a great dog. I just need space and someone who has time for me. If you know anything about German Shepards, you know we can learn almost anything. Hoping you are ready to teach me new things, as I have an inquisitive mind... and a loving heart.https://youtube.com/shorts/Wm2_jSc5iFg?feature=share.Energy Level: moderateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, await videoFears: none observed. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Heartworm, Ehrlichiosis, Leishmania and Anaplasmosis.
