Meet BUDDY (Local) yo
Hey there. I'm BUDDY and here is some info about me:Breed: German ShepardAge: 5 yrs (021420) December 12, 2024Gender: maleWeight: 85 lbsOrigin: CanadaHighlights: cuddly, affectionate, loyal, intelligent, eager to learnJust a big bundle of love, I will be your bestest companion ever. Ever had an furball cuddled up beside you, I think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread.I spent my days by my owner’s side, basking in love and companionship. But sadly, my owner passed away when I was about 2 to 3 years old. I was taken in by a kind-hearted family member who wanted to give me a second chance at a home. But there was already another dog in the home, and despite their best efforts, the situation became overwhelming for both dogs. Now, I await a new beginning—a home where I can thrive, where I can be loved as deeply as I once was.I'm a good dog, just looking for the right family to call my own. Is that you?Incredibly cuddly, affectionate, and a loyal companion, I get along wonderfully with both people and other dogs, often settling quietly nearby while you go about your day.Being the highly intelligent breed I am, I am always eager to learn and please you. I would really thrive with someone who has the time and patience to guide me. Full of energy, I am always ready for a walk, hike, or any adventure you want to embark on. I should turn some heads when we are out too, as I am a beautiful white shepard, not your typical coloration type.I am comfortable being home alone and have never had issues with accidents or destruction. I do however experience crate anxiety. That confinement causes me to cry and bark. Otherwise, I am generally a quiet guy.Okay walking on leash, but could use some work with pulling. I get along with dogs, cats and kids. Wowser, a trifecta! Working on getting the videos to show you.Vids coming.Energy Level: moderate to highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yes, await vidKids: yes, await vidFears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training:Leash skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: Rabies certif, no records received on other vaccs.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $600.00 CAD plus applicable taxes.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
