Meet Pesto (Middle East, ST)
Hello everyone. My name is Pesto and here is a little info about me:Breed: Spitz/Corgie mixAge: 1 YearGender: MaleWeight:19 lbHeight: 11 inch Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, people, no sign of aggression or guarding, A lovely family rescued me when they saw me getting abused by a mean human. He had a rope tightly tied around my neck and was dragging me across the road. It was apparent that I was very scared, hungry and of course, very sad. But, I was lucky enough to get a second chance in life. The family could not take me home so they brought me to the shelter where I have been living with my rescue mom and other friends for the past while. I am always in a good mood and get along with all my friends at the shelter. I am very playfull, enjoy meeting new people and getting head rubs. Given my yong age and energy, I need my daily walks and physical activities. It is really crowded here at the shelter and we don't have much space to run around but I am thankful and I know that one day, I will have a wonderful family and a home I can call my own.I am told that I am very smart and eager to learn. I have no problem sharing my space and toys with other dogs and have never displayed any signs of aggression. I love to cuddle and get head rubs. I am looking forward to finding my forever family and make ever lasting memories together.Energy Level: Medium/high requires daily physical activities.I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: UnknownKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, but no video proofFears: Unknown/none observed. I am a very fast learner and given the opportunity, I will learn all the tricks there is in no time.Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained:Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: I have been neutered, dewormed, microchipped and up to date on my vaccination. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
