Meet Merlin
~~THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT [email protected] FOR MORE INFORMATION ON HIM. THANK YOU~~This is Merlin. I Unfortunately need to find a great home for this boy. He can a little timid at first but warms up very quickly, he is so sweet and goofy and very affectionate.Unfortunately my first dog is very stressed and not doing well with the new addition. I thought a second dog would be good for her but its not working. My first dog has epilepsy and anxiety so the stress has been very bad for her. Despite proper/slow introductions. My first dog has been hospitalized for cluster seizures due to the increased stress of a new addition last week. I don't make this decision lightly. Merlin however is VERY good with other dogs, playful and happy. He's 1 year and 2 months old, 49lbs, neutered and up to date on everything. He is a pointer mix. He would make a great hiking buddy or running buddy. He has a lot of playful energy but also love to curl up for a movie.Merlin still needs basic training but walks well on a loose leash. He's truly a wonderful boy, just sadly not a fit for my situation. :Unknown with cats but I believe he could be very slowly introduced to them if they are somewhat confident kitties and he's given adequate time to decompress in his new home first. He's taken a little longer to warm up to my husband, but my husband is very tall and dogs tend to find him intimidating at first. He may be under socialized with men.I've had him 6 weeks now and cannot make it work any longer. He's very adoptable. My first dog is the issue here.
