Meet Athena

~~THIS IS A COURTESY POST. THIS DOG IS **NOT** IN THE CARE OF THE ALTERNATIVE HUMANE SOCIETY. PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER DIRECTLY AT [email protected]  THANK YOU~~Please meet Athena. She is a Cattle Dog, Husky, German Shepard mix according to DNA results. Her estimated birth month is September, so she is almost 1.5 year old. She is a sweet girl, who enjoys outings or spending time snuggled on the couch. She’s a little shy at first, but when she loves you, she loves you with her whole heart. She can complain or talk like a Husky. She’s spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, kennel trained, and potty trained. She knows come, sit, wait, paw, up, down, lay down and learns super fast. At the moment she’s a little overweight at 50 pounds. She would be an amazing adventure buddy.Athena is looking for her human best friend, she is such a sweet, loving girl and deserves a forever home that can help her become her best doggie self. Our son brought her home when she was about 8 weeks old, but then his plans changed, he’s in the military and won’t be stationed local. Since Athena turned 1 year, the cattle dog behavior has come out a little. She likes to control and has nipped at our other 2 dogs. Our 8 year old female doesn’t like that and we’ve had a few dog fights. Athena is not the aggressive one, however she won’t back down either. At this moment there’s not enough hours in the day to keep the dogs separated and give each the exercise and attention they deserve.Athena has not been around other animals, except dogs. She’s also unsure of kids because they make fast movements. Her ideal home would be where someone would take her on adventures and give her more training to not react or control other dogs. When she’s engaged, she will ignore other dogs. She rides great in the car and really enjoys agility. She’s been to some training, however more training would benefit her reactive and controlling tendencies. Her best home would possibly be an only dog and no small kids. She likes her teenage humans though. She really wants to please her humans. Please reach out if you'd like to meet Athena.
