Meet Poppycito

Animal Profile: Poppycito is an adorable 11 lb Chihuahua mix, about 1 year old, who was rescued from a high kill shelter in San Bernardino, CA. A good samaritan brought him in after seeing him being tossed from a moving vehicle. Despite this, Poppycito is incredibly sweet and friendly in his shelter video. He joined us in the Seattle area on 3/16/25. Foster Update: When Poppycito looks at you with his big brown eyes, you will immediately fall in love. This sweetie pie is simply irresistible with his winning personality and happy smile. Weighing in at around 10 pounds, he is the perfect size to be picked up or to sit in your lap, but also big enough to join you on your walks and other adventures. He is a snuggly guy who is happy when he's lying next to you, but he also brings a young dog playful energy to life (he LOVES stuffies). He also does really well in his crate. Poppycito is just the happiest little man, and will be even more so as he settles into life with his forever family. Poppycito is quick to learn, and we are working on basic commands, including "place." He will need ongoing training, as well as continued work on his leash skills. Happily, he is very food motivated which makes training a lot easier. He seems to do well with other dogs and has not been reactive while we're out on walks with dogs or people. Because of his playful, easygoing nature he would likely do well in a home with children and possibly cats (needs to be tested).  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, andhealth certificate. This dog will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.
