Meet Jill

Jill is a thought to be a 3-month old great dane/beagle mix who is on the petite side at fifteen pounds. Jill loves to run, and she often gets the zoomies outside. Her favorite activity is chasing and wrestling the other dogs in the house outside. She also really likes walking in a wading pool and grabbing leaves and toys out of the water. When she’s not busy wrestling or zooming around, Jill is laser focused on her people.  She loves to follow her humans from room to room and watch what everyone is doing. Jill is working on learning how to be independent and more comfortable spending time on her own. She has grown more comfortable in her kennel at night and usually cries for a few minutes but then quiets, especially if someone is sitting near her cage for reassurance.  Jill would thrive in a home that had someone home with her much of the day, but with work she should adapt to the kennel during the day for work.  She is a bit fearful of loud noises or barking dogs, and would do best with a fenced in yard for her safety.  Jill is very treat-motivated and eager to learn. She’s working on basic commands like “sit” and is becoming more comfortable on a leash, walking with you if treats are involved.  She is working on housebreaking and does quite well with scheduled bathroom breaks.Jill does well with large dogs and lives with cats.  She does chase them, but in a playful way and will likely do well with a cat that also enjoys the company of dogs.  Jill also does well with children, but like any young puppy can be a bit mouthy and needs guidance and training to know when to stop. She would benefit from a home with slightly older children who are confident around dogs and can help guide her in learning appropriate play.Jill is a loving and enthusiastic puppy who would thrive in a home where she can get plenty of attention and playtime, along with guidance and training. She’s bound to grow into a devoted and affectionate companion with the right care and patience. Spayed and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, Jill will be available for adoption on or after 9/8, so apply today. Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA KL# 16182.
