Paws Across Pittsburgh is a 501(c)(3), foster based, non-profit animal rescue located in the Pgh area. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome homeless, abused and/or unwanted dogs and cats.We are run solely by volunteers with the goal of providing vet care, socialization skills and nutritional needs while living in a loving foster home. All animals that enter into the rescue will receive appropriate vet care, spay/neuter, vaccinations and preventative treatments.Our goal is to assure a loving, forever home for each one of our animals.We have a monthly pet pantry, provide temporary fostering for emergency situations, have a Senior pets for Seniors program, and more.

Meet Lady

Lady is a beautiful 3 year old, 49 lb. hound mix thought to include a mix of bassett hound and beagle. Lady was pregnant when she came into foster from a shelter in WV. Three weeks later, she gave birth to ten healthy puppies. She was a great mom to her babies, but now it is her turn to find her forever home. She is a super sweet girl, getting along with the other dogs in her foster's home, and enjoying the company of visitors that come to the home. She remains calm when she sees the household cats, but hasn't been able to be fully assessed with cats, as the ones in her foster home don't come upstairs when the dogs are around. She has been good with children that have visited the house. Lady loves attention and affection. While being a laid-back dog, she can also be playful, and will entertain you with her antics with her toys. Lady is housetrained, crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is generally an easy-going girl. She loves walks and being outside, and is just as happy chlling out at home while you binge watch your favorite show. She wants nothing more than to be with her person, and will follow you around the house. She is a hound, and in true hound fashion, she will let you know when she spots people or a squirrel out the window...so an apartment would not be the appropriate home for her. If you think Lady might be the right fit for you, get your application in today, and give this girl the happy ending she deserves.
