500Meet Wilma! She was a surrender at the shelter and is roughly 1.5 years old. She has some skin issues on her rear end and is being treated. She is a smart cookie and knows "sit" and "down." More info to come on Wilma. Wilma is currently in Georgia at a high kill shelter that is over capacity right now! They will soon need to euthanize for space. Wilma NEEDS and adopter or foster in order to catch a ride to Cedarburg, Wisconsin on 10/26/24 with MUTT LIFE. Adoption Process
$500.00ADOPTION PROCESS:Â Step by Step Guide
1. Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply!
2. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
3. Application processing: we do a thorough background check, landlord approval (if applicable) or home ownership verification, vet check, and review your application. This process can take up to 5 business days.
1. note: if renting, please have your landlord write letter of approval for you to have a dog and either send to [email protected] or submit document during application submission.
2. Please call vet and authorize them to release medical information with us.
4. Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
5. Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the chance to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit.
6. Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
7. Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
8. Neuter/spay for puppies: if dogs are adopted prior to 6 months of age and are not neutered/spayed yet, we will work with you to coordinate an appointment with one of our veterinary clinic partners or you can go through your vet and we will give you a partial adoption fee reimbursement.Â
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
