Meet LuLu
About this Dog: Name: LuLu Breed: Mixed - Possibly German Shepherd/Chow Approximate Age: 5 months Gender: Female Weight: 20 lb Adoption Fee: $500 Why in Rescue: Texas Transfer Scroll down to learn more! Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs. LuLu is in a foster home and here is what her foster family has to say: Cute Cute Cute! Lulu is a 5 month old shep/chow mix. She is in a foster home with other dogs big and small. She does very well with all of them. Lulu is crate trained and sleeps through the nite. She is crated during the day about 3 hours while foster mom works. She is doing awesome with potty training on a scedule. She will need to continue this training in her new home. Lulu has puppy energy, but is not high energy. She loves to romp and play but also can chill and chew a bone. She will need to work on her confidence with new people. She would benifit from a puppy class. Previous profile: LuLu was a transfer from an overfull shelter facility so we don't have a background or history. We don't know if he/she lived with other pets, or children, or if he/she was housetrained. She is a sweet puppy who loves getting attention and is easy to handle. She came to us with a cloudy eye and we have been treating it according to our vets instructions. She will need another recheck after this round of eye ointment, and hopefully we will be given the all clear. It doesn't seem to be causing her any pain or other issues. If someone local adopts her before she is finished with her eye treatment, we will continue to pay for her eye rechecks at Bay View Vet in Mukwonago. If you would like to meet this loving pup - fill out the pre-adoption application and we will work on processing your application. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home. Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age. The adoption procedures are listed below. Priority is given to potential adopters who fill out the application on our website. If a listing is on the adoption websites, we are still accepting applications. The listing is removed once we have received a sufficient number of applications or the pet leaves the shelter. Adoption Procedures: 1. Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog. Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2. If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in. 3. If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her. In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day. 4. If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application. You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time. Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us! The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $500 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax. Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer. Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections. To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value). You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts. You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee. For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs. Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog. It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy. The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. The Dog Pre-Adoption Application can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet!
Adoption Process
Before meeting with a dog, a pre-adoption application must be completed. After the application is approved, a meeting is arranged between the adopter and the pet. An adoption contract is signed, adoption fee paid (generally $350), and the dog is able to go to the new home once all medical care is given. Dogs are fully vetted, including vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter, heartworm test, deworming, dental if needed, and other procedured needed by the particular dog. Adopters are required to return the dog to us if they are unable or unwilling to care for the dog in the future.
