Meet Heidi -TX - VA

UPDATE: Heidi is being fostered by a trainer in VIRGINIA!!! Heidi's foster is currently in training in VA for the next 3 months and Heidi got to tag along! Heidi would make a great Mal for a very active home or maybe even a sport home. She LOVES learning new things and loves pleasing her trainer. Heidi is VERY versatile and would love to learn scent work of any kind! She loves water, plays fetch, loves her ball, but is sensitive to correction so no heavy handed folks please. Heidi needs a dog experienced home that will keep structure in Heidi's life and give her lots of outlets for her mind and body. She is not a dominant dog and loves playing with other male dogs but NO female dogs. Heidi needs to build her confidence she is still shy around loud noises and hates passing cars. Heidi loves riding in the car, playing with her human with rope toys, loves to be loved on and loves playing in the water - dock diving???? Heidi back story: Heidi was saved at the last minute from a TX shelter. She is a great dog with lots of energy and a very young Maybe 5-7 years old. (shelter guess). She is crate trained and potty trained. And weighs a petite 45 lbs. Notes from the shelter staff: · Dog Test/Play group: Heidi was tried in playgroup and made it in she was social with those in the group. · Volunteer notes: No issue putting on leash, when kennel door was open did try to dart out, worked on making her wait at door when kennel is open. Took her away from all the barking dogs, and she self-calmed down, walking on the leash much better. Loves treats equally to attention. Spot behind her ears she really seemed to enjoy getting scratched. No issue walking her to bath. Walked in by herself. Walk back to kennel now that she was tired and calm was much better, no pulling even with all the dogs barking. Did great job ignoring them. Very treat motivated, quick learner. · Staff notes: Heidi has been friendly and social with staff. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application at the link below.
