Meet Rex

Rex is a 1.5yo, 50lb Shepsky mix who is your definition of fun and floppy! Rex came to MN in Feb 2025 and has gotten to experience his first big snow with Minnesota scenery! Rex was originally picked up a stray, and kept in a foster home, but mostly stayed outside in his pen weather permitting. He is still working on marking, house training, and pulling on a leash. Rex is such an eager to please dog, he will do anything for a tasty treat and being told he is the best boy, (because he IS!) Rex has already learned sit, down, touch, and wait, in just 2 weeks in foster care!   After having lived outside for the first year of his life and being neutered just about a month ago, Rex is still working on learning not to mark in the house - but belly bands work great for this as he still learns that indoors is indoors. He takes nice long afternoon naps, and sleeps great in his crate overnight.    Rex would do best in a home that has space to play inside and outside, an adult dog friend, and a human friend who can keep up with his Husky shenanigans, and who can keep working with his basic training.  Rex does show some prey drive, but we think it's closer to a game than a hunt, so lots of toys are going to be his favorite! Rex is currently fostered with a young pup, and does well with them, but would benefit from the companionship of an older dog to help teach him.   Rex is still a YOUNG dog. HE WILL JUMP. HE WILL CHEW THINGS. For this reason, we think Rex would be best around older kids until he learns his manners, size, and what items are his.  Interested in adopting? Please complete an interest form on our website  here  If you are viewing this listing on PETFINDER there is often MORE INFO ON and MORE PICS OF the animal DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE. http://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org *Adoption fee for Rex is $595 + MN tax* [email protected] https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue   All animals fully vetted appropriate for age: spayed/neutered, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (@12 months or older), microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention.  *Since we typically don't know a rescue dog's actual genetics, their breed and estimated size when grown on their bio is just an educated guess based on information ond observations we have.*

Adoption Process
People interested in adopting contact us and fill out an application. We review the application and determine if they may be a good fit for the dog, and if so they will set up a time to meet the dog. If all goes well, we proceed with adoption. All dogs are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations when adopted. Adoption fees range from $300-$450
