Meet Kai
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.Kai is a sweet, playful, friendly, (approx) 8-year-old Southern guy. He’s a little shy to start, but will quickly win over your heart. At 25 pounds, he’s a great size for around a house or apartment. He loves his toys (stuffies and balls) and being with his humans. He does well with dogs. Cats are not recommended as he likes them a little too much. Children are unknown at this time, though he’d likely do well with well-behaved children. He's good company in the car and is eager to go anywhere with you. He would love to be the center of your attention. He is housebroken with consistent routines. He does well with the kennel at night and is working on feeling safer when he’s alone during the day. Kai is easily trainable, learning new skills daily. He knows how to sit and walks well on a leash. He doesn’t like the cold Minnesota days, as his feet get cold, but he is ready and waiting for better weather. He’d be a great companion with an active senior. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
