Meet Murphy! Snuggles, snores, and love pretty much sums up this dude. He has mastered the art of Netflix and chill. He likes to curl up right next to his person and will quickly fall asleep, usually breaking out into some of the loudest snores you may have ever heard come from a dog. Murphy is a petite pit bull terrier mix who came to us from a local shelter, where he had showed up a stray. We do not know what his life was like before rescue, but he is soft natured dog and is quite bashful with new people and in new situations. He does, however, warm up quickly to other dogs and has done well with them while at the shelter, in shelter playgroups, and in foster care. He also lives with a cat and does well with him. He shows no desire to chase his kitty friends. Murphy does live with two dog savvy kids (8 and 5) and has always been good with them. Given his shy demeanor, an adult only home may be best, but exceptions could be made for a dog savvy family. Murphy has never shown any fear aggression. Overall, Murphy is an absolute joy to have in the home. He seems to really enjoy toys and is learning about fetch. He has the full pittie body wiggle (watch out! That tail hurts when it hits you when he is wagging it with enthusiasm lol) when he is excited. Murphy enjoys chasing his dog pals around the yard and has a nice moderate play style. He has nice food drive and is very quiet when crated. Inside the home, he just wants to chew a bone or snuggle up with his human. Murphy is excellent for his foster mom when he needs a nail trim, just sitting nicely while she trims. Murphy requires a family who absolutely adores him for who he is and advocates for him. He is not going to be a brewery dog anytime soon, want to be loved on by new people, and may not love busy neighborhood walks just yet and that is okay! He is such a good boy who deserves to take life at a pace he finds comfortable.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
