Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the animals' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter. This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We provide all needed supplies and cover medical costs of the foster while it awaits a forever home.

Meet Brody D6059

When the sun hits just right, this 11 pound Yorkshire poodle mix finds his perfect spot, basking in its warmth. He's an excellent walking companion – steady, matches your pace, and is non reactive to other dogs. Back scratches are his absolute weakness, and he'll communicate exactly how and where he wants to be petted with his expressive eyes.   A cozy bed, a warm patch of sunlight, and filet mignon are his idea of pure happiness. Whether you're looking for a quiet companion to share peaceful moments or a loyal friend who'll greet you with soft enthusiasm, Brody could be your perfect match.   Give this sweet boy a chance, and he'll fill your home with love, warmth, and the kind of companionship that only comes with years of wisdom and gentle spirit. Note: Brody was last vaccinated in 2019 for Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella. Shortly after receiving these injections, he became ill and was having difficulty breathing. The vet suspected an allergic reaction to one or more of the vaccines but was unable to determine which one due to being vaccinated with multiple injections at the same time. Based on the history of highly likely, severe vaccine reaction, it is recommended that he not be vaccinated again. Titering for Rabies and Distemper going forward is the best course of action to determine that he is still protected from these diseases.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
