Mack is being fostered in NC Ok so after just a few weeks with Mack… Mack needs a strong handler/owner that will tell him right and wrong and hold him accountable when he makes the wrong decision. He will walk nicely on leash. He knows sit, stay, down and here, basic obedience. He has a great recall without distractions. He will go after small animals little dogs/cats/squirrels if he is off leash, like most Mals he has a high pray drive but Mack is a smarty pants so training him right from wrong should be easy, he’s a very quick learner. Unfortunately for Mack his previous owner never let him know these things were not acceptable. Dogs his own size and with a slow proper introduction should be fine, Mack is a fun guy he just needs the right person to help guide him along the right path. He hasn’t shown any aggression towards people or children but shouldn’t be left unattended or off leash until he has some proper training and has settled in to his new home. He’s a bit of a ‘Bull in a China Shop’ when it comes to playing so no small children as he will likely bowl them over in his exuberance to play and herd. Mack doesn’t prefer to be in a crate but with some training/eating his meals in the crate I feel it will get better over time. He just wants to be with his person so he has perfected escaping just so he can sneak up behind you and pretend like nothing is wrong, life is good and he’s right where he is supposed to be. Mack needs leadership and structure like any Malinois would. He loves to play fetch but I would eliminate any play around dogs, cats and kids because he just loves to herd and can get overly excited and mouthy, again Not aggressive just typical Mal behavior. He works great with food and ball rewards. He was an Owner Surrender, one child, one on the way and they just decided they don’t have time for him anymore. He is Allergic to Chicken so his foster has him on a Beef/Fish eating plan. Adoption Application: https://malinoisrescue.org/forms/form?formid=6574
