Tome is a very sweet and loving. Once he settles in with you he will give you kisses! Tome has blue eyes but can hear just fine. He is doing well with our other foster cats and can be adopted into a home with other cats. We are not sure how he will be with dogs. Our Persian cats require owners who are familiar with their grooming, nutritional needs, and veterinarian care. We take our mission and cats well being seriously so please do not contact us if you are not in a place in your life where you can commit to a cat.All of our cats for adoption are sterilized, fully vaccinated, treated for fleas/worms, are negative for FIV/FELV, have a registered microchip, and come with their travel crate. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Potential adopters for our Persian cats need to have prior Persian cat experience as they need to be well cared for. Grooming, dental, and veterinarian exams are done once a year, and a good quality brand of cat food such as Royal Canin, Hills Science Diet, or Purina Pro plan is the upper tier level with a black label. We are a rescue and get what we get in terms of cats in need of a home. In no way do we work with breeders or buy the cats from the Friday markets so we can put them up for adoption as a rescue.https://www.petstablished.com/adoption_form/11596/genericNative Mau Cats of Egypt are the oldest known descendants of Egyptian domesticated cats (which have provided a partial foundation for the recent Egyptian Mau cat breed), and they are one of only a few naturally occurring, small, spotted cats in the world. Adoptions are on a cost-recovery basis and by an approved application. NVEcats aims to increase education in Egypt and around the world about these magnificent and intelligent cats.Cats and kittens are not adopted out on a “first-come, first-serve” basis. We choose to match our applicants and cats based on what we deem as best suited for that particular cat or kitten.
Adoption Process
NVEcats,The Nile Valley Egyptian Foundation Inc.(NVEcats), finds homes for homeless, abandoned, and abused cats, rescued from the mean streets of Cairo, Egypt, working diligently to find responsible and loving Pet Parents in the USA. We work with other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) supported charities in Egypt who have rescued abandoned, neglected and abused animals. Almost all of these animals have survived hunger, poisonings, and illnesses before entering the safety of the Egyptian Mau Rescue Organization –EMRO and/or other NGOs.
Our adoption process begins with an adoption application which will be provided to any interested adult 21 years of age, or older. We will also require a veterinarian’s reference.
We are looking for very special people who truly care about these animals, not as property, but who will be accepted as loving, long-term companions being welcomed into the lives of their adoptive families. Our priority is to ensure the cats will never again need to be rescued, will never be hungry and, most importantly, will never be abused. In order to accomplish this goal, we ask all potential adoptive parents to fully fill out and complete a detailed adoption application.
Adoption from NVEcats means that you will be asked to make a tax deductible adoption donation, pay for spaying/neutering, and any other medical care required before the felines are allowed to enter into the USA. Foster homes for cats and kittens newly arrived in the US are also available. The cost for their care and sheltering in a Foster Home will be $300.00 for a single cat, and $450.00 for bonded pairs. We also request that the Adopter agree to follow-up visits and updates which will be made by a representative from NVEcats. We wish to do everything possible to make ensure the animals we adopt out place find the best possible homes and Pet Parents once they leave our care.
