Meet River

River is a 1 year old Hound mix who came in with her sister, Creek. River is a little shy at first, but she warms up with patience and treats! River is a little more outgoing than her sister, but she still needs a little time to learn to trust new people. River has been outside most of her life, but she is young enough to learn to be inside if that is what her new family would prefer. River is a good medium sized dog, standing right about knee high and weighing about 45 lbs. She likes head scratches and does not seem to mind other dogs, but we always suggest a meet-n-greet if you have other dogs in the home. River and Creek would be happy to find a home together but are also available for adoption separately. The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. The hours of operation are: Monday through Wednesday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Thursday 12:30 pm till 6:00 pm; Friday 12:30 pm till 4:30 pm; Saturday 9:00 am till 4:00 pm. The Carroll County Animal Shelter will be closed the last Friday of every month for deep cleaning, staff training, and animal enrichment.
