Ranger came to us as an unclaimed stray from another town. He is approximately 1.5 yrs old and weighs 43 lbs. He appears to be a Shepherd mix of sorts but his breeding is uncertain. His upper body is black with some brown and his lower body and lower face is a dark brindle mixed with white. He is a very nice dog that appears to have had a loving home at some point. He is sweet, gentle, playful, loves attention, walks perfectly on a leash and heels by your side. He knows many basic commands and also plays fetch with a ball and drops it at your feet. This is all a bit unusual in most of the dogs that we rescue. This boy will make a fabulous family member for someone. He was just neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and found to be heartworm negative. If you would like to meet Ranger, please call 352-528-9888 and set up an appointment. We also offer our “Foster to Adopt” program. This allows a potential adopter to bring a dog into their home as a foster dog to see if the fit is a good one. Any medical needs during the foster period are covered by WAG. If the dog is a good match with the home, family and other animals, the adoption can then move forward.
