Meet Possum

Possum has been sponsored and his adoption fee is now $300!   Please meet Possum - or OH! Possum as his foster mom says!  He is about 2 years old and weighs 55 pounds.  We believe he is a cattle dog mix but with what? If anyone deserves a DNA test it's Possum! Possum was saved off the streets of Texas - and he had to learn to become a house dog!  His foster in Texas did an amazing job with this and now he is ready to find his happily ever after here in NY!  Possum is truly a happy boy.  He always has a smile and his eyes shine with happiness.  He gets along with everyone - all dogs, every size and shape.  He plays so nice with them too.  He is a great cuddler when it is nap time.  Possum loves to play and loves toys!  We are trying to get him to use the kiddie pool but that is still a work in process - he is not too eager about water yet!  He loves to be outside though, rain or shine.  We can't wait to see what he does when it snows! Possum is housetrained - please expect some adjustment time though as he learns a new routine.  He needs some time to do his business outside as he is easily distracted.  He is a squatter too so no leg lifting.  Possum has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and he really enjoys that but also likes to go for walks.  He would be a great dog to take on adventures all over!  Possum is getting used to car rides but we think with some more practice, he will be fine.  Possum is crate trained  - very crate trained.  In fact he puts himself to bed when he is ready!  He has a large crate with a huge comforter and he loves it.  He is a power chewer  - he loves to gnaw on the cow hooves and nylabones in his crate.  Toys are a must too!  He loves  toys with squeakies!  He tosses them around and plays tug o war with the other dogs.   Possum would love another dog in his new home but it is not required.  Kids would be great and he is fine with them.  Possum is cool dog that will be a great family dog or a partner in crime for someone he needs a new best friend! Possum is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $350  $300
