Animal Rescue Carolina, Inc.

We are a new organization, only recently submitting our paperwork for the Federal 501(c)3. We have all volunteered with other rescue organizations and have spent years doing personal rescues. We are completely foster-based, believing small, foster-based rescues have a place in the rescue/shelter universe. We do rescue because we can't turn our backs on the animals we come across in need.

Meet Gunther

My name is Gunther.  It means Warrior.  I’m a little older guy who’s been through some stuff.  When I came here, I was so sick.  I had an upper-respiratory infection, a urinary tract infection, hookworms, heartworms, knee problems…I was so tired…I could barely walk and I was about 20 pounds under weight.  I battled back because I am a warrior.  But they tell me I’m also a goofball.  I like laying on the couch with my people; naps are my favorite thing. And food.  I like that a lot.  My people have cats and the little ones are fun to watch (sometimes the big ones are scary, even for a warrior).  Life is pretty good now, but I think I’d like my own person; one I don’t have to share with so many others.  Would you be my person?  Email [email protected] to request an application.

Adoption Process
We have an application that must be filled out including a vet reference and non-relative references. A 24 hour hold on the application allows the ARC volunteer to call references and follow up with any questions for the potential adopter. A home visit may be scheduled at this point. If the person is approved, they must sign a contract. An adoption fee is required, however this may be waived in special circumstances. If for any reason in the future they can no longer take care of the pet, the animal must be returned to ARC.
