Sweet, gentle, loving, affectionate, gorgeous are just a few words used to describe this wonderful boy - he truly IS Magic!!!! Magic hasn’t met a person or animal he doesn’t want to say hello to. Even though he's had many challenges in his young life, he is always a gentleman. And through it all, he is loving and sweet and grateful for the love and attention he receives.   Magic came to rescue after his elderly owner, who was given a puppy, was unable to care for him. He and his sister lived in a backyard with little food and water. When he first came to us he was emaciated and weak and needed quite a bit of TLC and fattening up before he was able to be neutered. He has since been neutered and has just completed heartworm treatment, so he is now ready for his forever home.   Magic loves meeting new people and truly enjoys getting attention and being pet. He is being fostered in a multiple German Shepherd home and he does really well with the pack. He is also good with the two foster cats that he greets every day.   Magic would do best in a quiet and loving home where he can get lots of love and attention. At 85 pounds, he is a big boy but due to years of no human interaction he is like a big overgrown puppy! He will need an owner experienced with German Shepherds who will give him the love and attention he needs, but also guidance so he can continue developing into the wonderful dog he has become. A secure, fenced in yard is a must. We feel Magic will do well with a female companion dog who will show him the ropes of being a dog. Although he probably would do well with children, we will only place him in a home with children over the age of 16 since he doesn’t realize his size and is a serious leaner. He always wants to be near his people so he may knock down younger children.   Since Magic was starved prior to rescue, he is highly food driven and that does not work well with small hands and food! He does not have food aggression and is wonderful at meal time, although he sometimes likes to sing for his supper. This special boy has completed his heartworm treatment, is neutered and up to date on vaccines. He walks well on leash, knows basic commands, loves riding in a car and is crate trained. If you are interested in this very special boy, please contact Donna at [email protected] or fill out an online application. CLICK HERE to apply for Magic.

Adoption Process
