Surry Animal Rescue

Surry Animal Rescue is a NC certified non-profit volunteer organization. We operate solely on donations from adoptions and other resources. We rescue animals from abuse, neglect, owner surrender and euthanasia. How We HelpProvide safe care in foster homes until loving, permanent homes can be found for our rescued animals.Make sure each animal under our care is current on his/her vaccines and is spayed or neutered (age appropriate).Provide a thorough adoption application screening process to ensure an ideal match for pet and familyWe (SAR) do this because animals tend to be forgotten about. Our job is to work with helpless animals to find great forever homes and have the satisfaction that come with that.

Meet Apple

Here's the dog you have all been waiting for...... APPLE!!!!  Apple is the mom to all the puppies we just adopted out.   Apple is a 4 year old German Shepherd/hound mix and she weighs about 75 pounds.  She is the sweetest girl with the best personality.  Apple was the perfect mother to her 10 adorable puppies.  She/we have 2 female puppies left, Linda Mac and Granny, Apple is still being a perfect mom to them.   Apple showed up at our volunteers apple tree farm, hence her name.  They took her in and prepared a nice place for her to have her puppies.  She hasn't left the farm since but we would love for her to have an indoor home where she can be spoiled rotten like she deserves to be. She is great with other dogs, cats and kids.   She was just spayed, updated on all of her vaccines and treated for Lyme disease. If you would like to meet Apple please fill out an application from our website.

Adoption Process
We have a thorough adoption process that includes an adoption application, vet check (All current and past pets have to be current on vacs. and spayed/neutered), and home check (fence required for larger dogs, etc.). If those come out good and the adoption is finalized, there is an adoption fee that is paid and a contract is signed by the adopter stating that the animal must be routinely vetted and the animal is not allowed to go to any other home w/out the rescue's approval. All of our animals are spayed/neutered before adopting out and currenton vacs (as well as flea and HW meds).
