Surry Animal Rescue

Surry Animal Rescue is a NC certified non-profit volunteer organization. We operate solely on donations from adoptions and other resources. We rescue animals from abuse, neglect, owner surrender and euthanasia. How We HelpProvide safe care in foster homes until loving, permanent homes can be found for our rescued animals.Make sure each animal under our care is current on his/her vaccines and is spayed or neutered (age appropriate).Provide a thorough adoption application screening process to ensure an ideal match for pet and familyWe (SAR) do this because animals tend to be forgotten about. Our job is to work with helpless animals to find great forever homes and have the satisfaction that come with that.

Meet Chief

Chief is an 11 month old Collie mix, he weighs around 47 pounds.  The owner got him at a yard sale and was told he was a Collie/Feist mix but we are not sure we believe that. Chief was surrendered to us when he got injured.  We think he may have been hit by a car and his wrist was broken through both his radius and ulna bones.  We had to take Chief to a specialist to have surgery.  The only way they could stabilize the bones was to use and external fixator device.   Chief has finally gotten his pins out!!!!!!!! Yea!!!  He is ready to find his forever home.  Chief is such a sweet boy and will make the perfect addition to someone's family.  He needs a home where he can get plenty of exercise and love. If you would like to meet Chief please fill out an application from our website.

Adoption Process
We have a thorough adoption process that includes an adoption application, vet check (All current and past pets have to be current on vacs. and spayed/neutered), and home check (fence required for larger dogs, etc.). If those come out good and the adoption is finalized, there is an adoption fee that is paid and a contract is signed by the adopter stating that the animal must be routinely vetted and the animal is not allowed to go to any other home w/out the rescue's approval. All of our animals are spayed/neutered before adopting out and currenton vacs (as well as flea and HW meds).
